Craigy F "Puffy" (Prod. by Zard Beats)

Food For Thought: New Year New You

Simply put. New year new you? Leave it all behind. The stress, complaining, old news, tiring drama, constant set backs. Leave it. Reset & aim the new year to be a new you. Even if you like who you are in the current year then carry them over to be better after the ball drops. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Presented By @OnlyInBOS: Boston's Top 25 Hip Hop Songs In 2014

Boston Hip Hop doesn't have a sound..yet. Boston Hip Hop doesn't have a face..yet. Boston Hip Hop isn't on..yet. But it's getting there and 2014 was proof in the pudding. The future of hip hop in Boston and surrounding areas looks very bright. From street anthems to "feel good" singles, to radio hits, to love songs, to party/club bangers, to Boston had it's shining moments with it all this year. It's going to be interesting to see where things go from here but the only direction is up.
The list below is the Top 25 Hip Hop songs from Boston and surrounding cities. A lot of things were considered when curating this list, mostly: quality, replay value, overall strength of the record, and impact. Following this list is the stream for the collection which is available for download to the first 100 people. The list was curated by Nathan Johnson (@NateSaid) and hosted by Only In Boston (@OnlyInBOS).

The Crucifixion of Iggy

What is the new big fuss in music these days? Well above you will see it. YES! This milk of Malaysia is the new source of black anger. She reportedly doesn't understand our culture nor rap music at that. Made a few misguided comments and the end of the world happened. Q-Tip attempted to school her while Clifford "T.I. the human thesaurus" Harris suited up his finest cape. I mean everyone hates her music, I clearly don't know why, but they figure they do. Whole situation had me confused. So I tweeted a few tweets of that confusion below.

Album Review: "2014 Forest Hills Drive" By @NateSaid

If You Like real and you like Hip Hop, you fuck with J. Cole. J. Cole wasn't aiming to prove he can rap. We already knew he could do that. He was trying to let us know he can make a top-shelf album and still be true to himself. With that being said, Forest Hills Drive is a concept album. The concept is a walk through J. Cole's life...beginning from Forest Hills Drive.
The album starts with Cole singing over some groovy piano keys and repeating the question: "Do you wanna be happy?" and repeating the word "free". So right off rip I knew the next 12 tracks were going to be that real, artistic, personal shit.

Theme Song of the Week 12/1-12/7: R. Kelly "Feelin' On Yo Booty"

Food For Thought: Opportunity

When it comes, it comes and you have that chance and it only may be THAT chance to take it. Great opportunities do not come often. So when that one you been waiting and wishing for arrives at your door let it in. Your future might be within that entry. Make sure you are always well prepped and prepared for any opportunity that you envisioned to come. Then the time comes where you may have missed a chance at something wonderful. It will get you down but others built with optimism will turn it into a drive to pursue the next and take the risk not to miss out again. So never miss out because living life with a million "What ifs?" searching inside yourself for what went wrong will never be a good thing in the end. So take them all if the risk will be so greatly more rewarding in the end. Second chances do come though and they either show that it was meant to miss or worth the way. Some of us have to grow into the opportunity that was granted before. So I say to all, take the opportunities that come, measure the risk and take the chance if you'll be happy after it's all said and done.

Theme Song of the Week 11/17-11/23: Trick Daddy "Nann Nigga" (Ft Trina)

Wife Duties But I'm Your GF

I know one thing. Women are very, very, very, very, VARE-REEY confused individuals to be the same individuals that know what they want in and out of something. I have been confused myself on a certain thing that stay coming out some of their mouths when a relationship does not go their way. What do y'all mean when it comes to maybe "wife duties" should not have been done and y'all should have stuck to girlfriend things. I am interested to know. I am highly intrigued. I am a man who just wants some shut up and food from time to time. First off what are girlfriend duties? Second off what are wife duties? Third off when is a nigga sandwich and beer arriving to his couch while I cuss my team out for losing on a beautiful NFL Sunday? Too many questions, just too many questions.

Bullshit & Beer: You Do Know You Crazy Right? Ep5

It's My Privacy, I Can Hide If I Want To

Had to read a little something for class and here is my response.

“Why Privacy Matters Even if you have “Nothing to Hide” can be answered simply with because it is your own right. ITS YOUR OWN DAMN RIGHT! Just because it is nothing to hide does not mean just go put it out in the open to prove it to others. FUCK. THEM. In my own opinion on this reading I believe people will have an opinion on what you do and do not do and on what they do and do not know when it comes to your life. They are not going to tell you everything that goes on in their life so do not expect that you owe them what goes on in your own. Some people out there do feel the need to know “hey, if nothing is going on why must you hide it?” They may in turn go on to make themselves right in justification and tell you that it is something you have to hide. It is like they are forgetting that what they feel that have the right to know is not even their right but your right to see if they are worth knowing.

More Words on Chivalry

This here is just more to say from my mind on the whole chivalry concept and it's death.

Generosity has come and gone a long way over time as generation to generations standards continue to change. What seemed to be more accepted as a way of living your everyday life way back then has seemed to become non-existent in today’s time. It makes one wonder is chivalry dead? Looking at had some of us were raised to how we may deal with others of the opposite sex does bring that question up constantly.

Guest Blog: "Drake: The Mastermind" by @NateSaid

I brushed upon the topic briefly in my "Watching 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' Is Motivation" blog but I felt it needed elaboration.

Nobody. I mean nobody is more opportunistic than Drake when it comes to the music industry. Okay. Maybe Diddy. But then again nah not really. Drake really sees it all and hears it all. He's shown this time after time after time.

His cosign of the Chiraq wave was at the most perfect time. Right before it really took off. Sent a tweet about having a Chief Keef's "Love Sosa" play 130 times in a day and he dropped a verse on a Lil Reese track.

Remember when he was on the "Versace" remix? Remember how he kidnapped that flow a couple times for his own singles? But think about it. You could make the argument that Migos were the hottest thing in Atlanta during that time. But only in Atlanta. Drake on that remix gave them that national exposure. Drake on that remix added fuel to their fire. Can you see the Migos in the rap game 5 years down the road? Nah. I didn't think so. But temporarily, they're hot and they had Drake on one of their biggest songs. Then he turned around and snatched that rap-style for a bit and turn it into his own movement. Now look at what he did with that Meek Mill tweet. Back in April, he fired up his Twitter app and out of nowhere let a tweet fly that read "Dreams & Nightmares Intro really one of the best rap moments of our generation..." Why? Maybe Drake was just driving through the streets of Toronto with Meek Mill's debut album flourishing through his speakers and decided to tweet it. Or maybe Drake had something up his sleeve.

What did the "Dreams & Nightmares" and a couple of Drake singles from this year all have in common? The crazy, dope beat change making it seem like you got two songs in one. Now these weren't the first instances that he used the "double song" but it definitely was his signature move amidst the time of Meek Mill tweet. Drake also has a thing for doing whatever the "trend" is for the moment then gets right back to his own sound. Whether it's in sports. Music. Whatever. Over the past year or so Drizzy was made fun off because he kept appearing to be a bandwagon fan all over the sports world. But then again it led to him hosting the Espy's. On the music side of things, he's also known for hopping on the trend from time-to-time. This was proven when Drake did the "We Made It" track with Soulja Boy and more recently when he threw a verse on Makonnen's song. Starting OVO (what appears to be the future sound of hip hop) and entering the sports world as the Toronto Raptors' Global Ambassador with a clothing line in conjunction to that position just adds to his mastermind resume.

Aubrey Graham. Drizzy Drake. Wheelchair Jimmy. Whatever you call him, just make sure you're aware he's probably plotting a new way to remain in the headlines. That's what masterminds are capable of.

Yours Truly,
The Boy (@NateSaid)

Guest Blog: "Bitches and Music" by @WhoButAR

It’s a fairly simple concept. Bitches and music go together like peanut butter and jelly. Like Henny and Coke. Like Gin and Juice.

My nigga, didn’t John Smith even serenade Pocahontas once or twice before he had her all the way in the bag? So it’s safe to say, this country was FOUNDED upon G’n bitches up with music.

The Rules: 10 Crack Commandments

Right off talking bout life investments here is BIG's 10 Crack Commandments. Maybe that straight forward approach didn't do it for you. Now you sitting there wondering how this song will. BECAUSE IT'S RULES TO THIS SHIT! When I hear this joint I switch out crack and apply whatever it is in life that im working on in it's place and plan out how to begin getting it off the ground. Well I'll break down this joint but it's on you to apply what you need in life to each rule.

Food For Thought: Life Investments

What are you investing into your life everyday? Like every single day what new are you putting into yourself to in rich your character? How much do you value your life own life to take the time to create a better you by grasping knowledge, positive energy and peace to make a better... you? Life investments today are what I want you to think about. Think of your life as your business. Every day you want to move in a way, think in a way, work in a way to build your business for the better. Do you spend most your days digging into others business "giving" advice to "look out" but not trying to start stuff? That's not maintaining your business that's leaving yours to invest in others. It's better when one leaves their business to seek financial advice to take and apply to their own business tactics. So by financial advice I simply mean help. They leave their life to seek help to apply to their own life in hopes they can move in a better direction that they feel they fell off. Just don't feel the need to purposely maintain others business when yours is barely off the ground. When you yourself need more investments into your life you need not think you are well stable enough to invest into another business especially if theirs as a higher success rate and been running a lot smoothly and longer than your current business dealings. Do you value your business or do you see the lack their of value in it to where you feel the need to invest in others?

Guest Blog: "Crazy Isn't Cute" by @NateSaid

Lil Kim continues harassing the innocent citizens of the world over the internet with her music. I don't know why but she continues to do so. Remy Ma came back home from prison and immediately hops right back into the studio with zero hesitation. Rumor has it she hasn't taken any days off since being out. I don't know why but she continues to do so. In a weird way, Lil Kim and Remy Ma tie into today's topic. That topic is crazy bitches.

Guest Blog: "Watching 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' is Motivational" by @NateSaid

If you don't find the Kardashian family entertaining then you should at least find them motivating. Don't worry I'll explain. But first let me shine light on how Drake might be the most opportunistic rapper ever. Aubrey Graham has a way of knowing what sounds are going to "pop" in the industry. Just look his recent history. He cosigned the Chiraq bandwagon at the perfect time. Then kidnapped Migos flow and everyone started running with it. Called Meek Mill's intro "one of the best rap moments of our generation" before going on a tear with "double songs" with beat switches. Similar to how Meek Mill switches flows/sounds in the "Dreams & Nightmares" intro. And more recently, he hopped on the Makonnen wave. Just know Drizzy sees everything and hears everything and knows how to capitalize of it.

Guest Blog: "Death" by @NateSaid

"If you admire somebody you should go head, tell em/People never get the flowers while they could still smell em"

Life is very short. Very very short. Too short to hold grudges, too short for you sit around and be sad, and too short for you not to enjoy every second of it.

But it seems like we only realize how short it really is when one of our loved ones passes away. Taking things for granted and taking people for granted is a daily mistake a lot of us make, but then in moments of tragedy we’re reminded of how much we care about our loved ones and reminded how we shouldn’t take things (or people) for granted. But...that’s life.

They say god does everything for a reason which is fine, but what could be the reason be for taking all the good people so early in their lives?

slihmm & Luke Bonds - Tethys (prod. Luke Bonds)

Think old underground emotion of Eminem meets the IDC nature of Odd Future. That's what I picked from this joint. Take a listen for yourselves.

The Ain't Sh*t Guy

The most obvious open book type of male you will run across. Why speak on this species of nigga? Yes white folk I know if you're reading this you clear ass day screamed aloud in your heads nigga. But why give them acknowledgement? Because they are over running the earth like the abominable cockroach that nobody but one person in the house seems to see and that person being you. Now I spoke on the home girl that basically is your friends ladies that cause you to be blinded on how to deal with Mr. too good to be true in turn making him look like the ain't shit guy. The guy your home girls are actually dating. That's why their minds are tainted. What is this guy doing to our women to where no other man is safe from the bitter war cry of "YOU AIN'T SHIT!"? Daddy issues? Maybe. No good male role models in their life? Maybe. These cockroaches that chill on the couch and ask you to pass the Doritos and grape drink just don't get the way they act but are very comfortable with it. They don't know what the hell responsibility is. You need help with diapers but he needs a blunt, now & laters and a cold arizona guess what he copping?

Guest Blog: "The Yes Man" by @NateSaid

Shits been very weird lately. Solange doing Mortal Kombat moves on Jay Z in elevators. LeBron going back to the Cavs. The T.I/Tiny/Floyd Mayweather love triangle unfolding before our eyes. Niggas getting nose rings. Very very spooky happenings. But I'm here to touch on another topic. The "Yes Man".

The "Yes Man" is Top 5 Worst People ever because they're the equivalent to a hype-man that is hyping someone (or something) that deserves little to no hype. (Unfortunately) We all know a "Yes Man".

Apparently, the new trendy thing to do is be a rapper, or be a fashion designer...yo Instagram even has a double-tabs on pictures allowing girls to believe that they're aspiring models. With that being said even females have entered the "Yes Man" vortex.

A.T.M. Quote Ft A.T.M. Roc "Robbed Da Bank"

New release from that boy A.T.M. Quote. This time he brought along A.T.M. Roc for a little heist.Check out the track below.

Food For Thought: Progression

Look at yourself. Look at a year ago, you at this moment and who you want to be a year from now. Have you stayed the same? Are you approaching the person and life you see yourself to have? Progress people. It's all about progress. Nobody gonna hold you back more than you can. All the blame in the world can go to everything and everyone outside of you & if you changed them would that make your progress better? Easier? Will it not change a single thing? What if those things stayed the same but you changed you?

Guest Blog: "50/50/100 Relationships" by @NateSaid

Relationships have to be 50/50 in order to have any chance at long-term happiness. And by 50/50 I mean half and half everything. Even truths and lies. Especially truth and lies.

We're going to take a look at this from three different sides. The good guy liar, the bad guy liar and the guy who just tells the truth.

Mr. Too Good To Be True

Mr. say it with me, too good to be true. The guy that's so much more than you expected that you can't believe everything that you see. You can't fathom the idea that there isn't anything going on behind the scenes when he not around. He just seems so perfect that somethings HAS to be wrong. Babies hidden across the globe, aids, a sixth pinky toe with a not so there baby nail, SOMETHING! But why can't this guy just be good for you? Why does something have to be wrong with him? Why can't he simply be what you need in your life? Yes no one is perfect but we do get that sense that people are when we are overwhelmed by their presence. He has a Job, in school/has a degree, if any kids raising them well above and beyond, if none he is capable of welcoming them into this world and giving them a proper life. So why can he not just be that, a good man, great guy FOR YOU? This is the part where your fear starts to thinking for you. You get to questioning all of what he does. Yes he is giving you the world but you're not used to it so you run or stick through is but from a distance. Just watching and waiting for that big AH HAAAAAA moment to come.

Side Effects of The Homegirl

The walking thesaurus of all things called advice. Simple. I'm done here. Ok, ok, I'm not done but let's talk about it. The homegirl. No not your man best friend but your friend. The one with the Do's and Don'ts of YOUR life to make YOUR life better and safer and "Happier". Now yes I said happier but, look at the homegirl. Is she even happy first of all? If yes is then she not even gonna bother talking to you bout what to do. If the broad not satisfied in or wishing her life is even half of what yours is then here will come the rain of "You Betters". Never understood how what I call "Being a homegirl" has EVER kept the friend their standing up for worked out for the greater good. For one, has your advice even helped you stay happy? Has it kept your relationship going long and stress free? Are your finances up to par and equally spread with your partner? Do you even have a partner? Not a late night only rendezvous but a legit significant other. One who is there supporting you and I mean tossing bread and courage your way instead of just dick and stress. NO?

Craigy F "June 26th Interlude"

Can't tell y'all like I done told y'all before they're working. Here's another from Craigy F himself again out The Ridge crew

Black to Polygamy

Because cheating is wrong. Yes, yes we get it and I talked about that in a past post that you can find right....... Here! But this isn't about cheating this is basically about openly dealing with all your women. Scary and very scrutinizing I know but it can't be that bad can it? NO. Only to the public on the outside judging it is and will be. Now this is not my way of saying give me about four or five bitches and let me call it a headache filled day O no sir eeeeeee bob it is not. Now how can we tell another man who has multiple women that know of each other that they are doing it wrong? First off how can you women barely sure if you're the boo or the side tell the women in this type of lifestyle that they're foolish? Who is being foolish by freely and willing AND openly know "Hey I'm GF #1. You must be Sara, GF #2. Have you met #3 Jen yet?" At the same time who are you to also say they aren't happy? He could be treating them pretty damn well leaving them fully satisfied and comfortable. He's not sitting here with all of them thinking they're the one. He letting them know off gates, "HEY! You, you, you and me got a love thing baby... plural, cool? cool." The guys who agree with the women on the whole the men who live this life are wrong and the chicks that put themselves into them are foolish just want the vagina of the broads who said the same. SHUT UP! You're not getting that girls vagina and you got hoes yourself young cornball man.

But what makes girls want a honest man til the point they can't handle the honesty? Look bitch we aren't Abe Lincoln & your feelings are at hand. Yes when we meet y'all off gates a couple lies better than a J. K. Rowling book getting told to you. OFF GATES! You just gonna have to see the truth that is in us. A little bit after that some of it will be told to you cause we feeling you a bit. Not saying the lies we told were 100% false more so watered down truths. You know why? Cause we pay attention to how you react to the man over ion the corner loud open & speaking every thought that comes up. You get annoyed, disgusted and we cant get no bitches by annoying & disgusting you. He not your man so him talking bout hoes weave, their looks, just all freely & actually truthful comes across arrogant & egotistical. So why not go to the quiet guy on the side that is a mystery you can learn more about? You do & he giving you the best words that ever hit your ears since R. Kelly "12 Play". Now he stuck. Should he stay giving you watered down truths to your life or actually be that honest man you want?
